Woman Dies in Fall

A 48-year-old woman has died after falling from a window of an apartment building at 333 E. 181st St. (at Valentine Avenue). The incident happened on Jan. 20 at approximately 3:45 p.m. 2:15 a.m. The building is 19 stories high. According to police, she fell from one of the higher floors and was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesperson for the city’s medical examiner gave the cause of death as “blunt impact injuries” – injuries consistent with a fall. They wouldn’t release the woman’s name because the “manner” of death has yet to be determined. Police say they are trying to establish if it was murder or suicide.
